“This is a wonderful opportunity for the city of Keene and the college community.” The festival brought visitors and revenue to the downtown and gave the community an event that put Keene on the map. Keene had started to become a very popular Halloween destination.

The film “Jumanji” was filmed in Keene and neighboring Swanzy in the fall of 1994. This film helped put Keene on the map increasing the number of Halloween tourists that visited the town in the following years. Photo by Jesse Stenbak
