Shays’ Rebellion began August of 1786 when over taxed farmers began to gather in groups in order to prevent any more of a tax burden from being forced upon them. Other major features that caused the rebellion were a weak national government that did not command the loyalty and support of their people along with a large amount of useless paper currency that had been printed.
