Comments on Websites

Desegregation:
I may be wrong about this, but I think that if you are citing the same source in the footnotes, you can use the same number for it. Like I said, I am not sure, but it is something you could look into because I know you were interested in shortening your footnotes on each page. Also, it would be beneficial if you alphabetized your bibliography page, as you have a lot of sources and it would be easier for someone to find what they were looking for. Overall, the website looks awesome, it is super easy to navigate with the arrows to the next page at the bottom of each page, and I am seriously impressed at the amount of information you have found!

Shay’s Rebellion:
For the section on parties involved, I think it would be better if you didn’t give each person their own page. At first, I really liked the idea of each person having their own page, but after clicking through it might be best to condense them. Also, on some pages you have the drop down menus, which are great, but you don’t have any information at all on the parent page. I think you might be able to put a small paragraph summarizing all of the people, just to make it look more complete. On your bibliography page, you have bibliography written twice, so you might want to take that out lol. I really like the overall layout, you have great pictures and they are a great size, and I think that it all looks awesome. I especially like the “next” tabs at the bottom of each page, as it makes it flow really easy!

Railroaded:
I think that you should add captions under your pictures, as some of them I have no idea what I am looking at. Also, at the very bottom of the website, you have words there telling you how to change it into something else- don’t forget about that! I know you have been having a hard time doing this by yourself, but I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Keene Pumpkin Fest:
At the very bottom of the website, you have words there telling you how to change it into something else- don’t forget about that! On your about page, you have “Mission Statement” and then you have a fun and interesting narrative. I think you should take away the “Mission Statement” piece as the narrative can easily stand alone. On the 1992 Page, you start with a picture, but I think a small summary on the top of the pages would be helpful. I understand why you wanted to include BBC, but I think only having the website link there isn’t really effective (you may be planning to do more with this page, in which case, disregard what I said). Overall, I am impressed with your website. You have a lot of information and you have GREAT pictures from the pumpkin fest you attended as well as a great amount of newspaper articles and other pictures from the past that tell a great story.

    Thank you for your feedback. I think I have heard that about the footnotes as well, but we’ll have to look into it. We definitely need to find a solution to shorten that length. I am also working on alphabetizing the citations, but it is a daunting task since there is so much information haha. I think that will be one of our goals this week.
