What was Shays’ Rebellion? Shays’ Rebellion was an uprising of poor Massachusetts farmers right after the American Revolution in 1786. This website explains not only the armed conflict of the poor farmers, but the ripple effect following the events of Shays’ Rebellion that left Massachusetts divided. Find out how the ratification of the Constitution in Massachusetts was passed and how the social conflict that arose was settled peacefully following the Rebellion.
