Overwhelmed, but still excited

The past few weeks have really been a whirlwind here, but I’m slowly grasping at new footholds. Jess and I have both been incredibly busy with school work, so we paused our research for a few days to get up to speed with what we have going on here. However, this is not to say that we didn’t make any progress. While I was in class, Jess met with our IRB contact on campus (there wasn’t a time where all three of us could meet, unfortunately). We found out that the process we have to go through isn’t as difficult as it could have been, so that is helpful. This weekend, we wrote out some questions we are hoping to ask people in our interviews. We have to submit these questions to the IRB committee before we can conduct any research, so we wanted to get ahead on that as soon as possible. We have a lot of books to read, a lot of information to shuffle through, and even more that we haven’t even found yet. We are hoping that our workload might slow down sometime soon so that we can really jump in to this project. As we were writing our project proposal, we found that we have a lot of ground to cover. It’s slightly overwhelming to look at the amount of information we want to include in our website, but we really felt that all of it was necessary. In that respect, maybe a new set of eyes will help us weed out the information that might be less important. Unfortunately, we felt it was all important. We are making plans and attempting to get ahead on this project, but all good things come with time!
