Time to Celebrate

All of the feedback we received on our website was very helpful! We learned how to organize our links better and set up a new photo gallery. Over Thanksgiving break, Claire had finished her edits, so I decided to complete my part of the editing tonight. I reworked the links for the interview page, giving a little bit more information for each interview on the main page. I also used MetaSlider to make the photo gallery. The images look a lot better now and most feature a caption! The only issue was that Claire and I do not know all of the parts of the well sites, since each one is different depending on the class and location. By looking at different diagrams, I was able to identify some of the structures in the photos. I also edited the resolutions page and added links into the conclusion paragraph. The website is finally complete! All in all, the project was a lot of work, but I have learned a lot throughout the entire process. I enjoyed the research aspect and my favorite part of the project was being able to interview different people. It is truly fascinating to learn the different perspectives surrounding one conflict. I also learned some valuable information throughout the project. The issue with fracking isn’t actually scientific, like Claire and I originally thought. Our conflict is more of a social issue that requires the understanding of the opposing view points, positive and negative, surrounding fracking. It is a complex conflict. Each person should research the issue in depth before making an educated opinion. For me, that was the take home message of this entire project. Every conflict has a lesson that pairs with its resolution, and ours’ emphasizes the need for better communication and education of the multiple opposing views before forming opinions.
