The pumpkins were only carved by elementary school children from Keene and the surrounding towns. Each pumpkin had a tag that said which school the child who carved the pumpkin is from. Some of them even had names on their tag. Children attending the festival were able to find their own pumpkin and show their family.
The rainy weather made the crowd at the festival much lower than in previous years but this was the intention of this years festival. And because there was no profit making aspects to the festival the lower attendance didn’t have any negative effect on the festival.
